Description
The Soft-Base Shed Cell Collector is a forensic sampling tool designed for efficient collection of trace cellular material from both hard and soft surfaces at crime scenes. Constructed with a specialized adhesive that does not interfere with downstream DNA purification or analysis, the collector ensures contamination-free sampling. The adhesive is backed by a sponge layer, improving contact with harder surfaces to maximize cell collection. Suitable for collecting cells from clothing, gloves, skin surfaces, or other objects, it provides reliable samples for subsequent DNA extraction.
Key Features:
-
Specialized adhesive compatible with DNA analysis
-
Sponge-backed adhesive enhances collection from hard surfaces
-
Easy-to-handle soft-base design ensures optimal contact with varied surfaces
-
Sterile, ready-to-use, and contamination-free
-
Allows proper labeling and documentation of collected samples
Technical Parameters / Packaging:
-
Packaging: 10 collectors per box
-
Base type: Soft, sponge-backed
-
Adhesive surface: DNA-compatible, protective layer included
-
Sterilization: DNA-free production process
-
Usage: Single-use recommended
Usage Instructions:
-
Wear disposable gloves and remove the collector from packaging.
-
Peel off the protective layer using tweezers, avoiding contact with unrelated surfaces.
-
Press the adhesive onto the target surface and repeat approximately 10 times.
-
Replace the cap and label the sample.
-
In the laboratory, remove the adhesive layer with tweezers, place into a centrifuge tube, and perform DNA purification.
Application Range:
Ideal for forensic investigations, trace cell collection from clothing, gloves, skin surfaces, and objects, and subsequent DNA extraction in laboratories.
