Description
The Large Trace Cell Collector is designed for efficient collection, enrichment, and preservation of shed cells from contact surfaces at crime scenes. Each collector features a highly adhesive membrane that captures cells directly from evidence surfaces without reacting with common DNA extraction reagents. The collector’s flexible base conforms to uneven surfaces and enclosed areas, ensuring maximum sample recovery. Supplied in a ventilated square paper box, the collectors are suspended inside to prevent contamination and facilitate safe transport. Each box contains 100 collectors with 3 specialized membrane tweezers.
Key Features:
-
High-adhesion membrane effectively collects shed cells without chemical interference.
-
Flexible base conforms to uneven surfaces and enclosed areas.
-
Membrane is robust, single-sided adhesive, and prevents clumping for reliable DNA analysis.
-
Comes with dedicated labels for recording sample information.
-
Produced under sterile, DNA-free conditions to prevent contamination.
-
Compatible with magnetic bead or silica-based DNA extraction methods.
-
Two available sizes: Small 10×10 mm, Large 15×15 mm.
Scope of Use:
-
Collection of shed cells from crime scene evidence.
-
Enrichment and preservation of trace biological samples.
-
Direct use for forensic DNA extraction and analysis.
